There are events that can occur during your day which are readily able to be placed in the “negative” category, and they may continue to frustrate for hours after this is done. The simple concept of placing them in a mental group where problems are regularly moved into is a large part of how the events are able to frustrate you during the day, and onward into future days. This process can be abandoned if you are able to control your mind at that important time.
The key to this procedure is to recognize when something would normally be placed in your mind as a negative occurrence, and then to take a moment to piece it apart. “Negative” events or interactions are actually potently positive improvement opportunities that are in disguise. A negative interaction you have with an individual can serve as the beginning of a correction in the relationship between you and that person. The key is to allow this correction to take place by not framing the situation before there is any reason to frame it.
The same can work for an unappealing occurrence, such as when a goal you have is not coming to fruition by a deadline you have set. This could be looked at negatively, but that would not advance you towards a larger goal you may(should) have. The thing to do would be to not place the result in the “disappointment” bin, and then to reset your goal/expectation settings based on what occurred and why it might have occurred. A way to turn this around would be to use the low result as a reason of why you have to add an extra amount of effort the next day. A backup option is to instantly cut off the activity that led to the result and toss off that train of thought with no more expended energy.
