[...] As Timeless Information has talked about, much of what you see is engineered. However, there seem to be few resources for getting down to the basics and structure of engineering. That is why you’ve come to Diligent, to learn from the ground and move up. And believe me, you aren’t too late in the game to learn. [...]

Corey: That can be quite entertaining for the population of individuals who are older than teenagers, as the comments seem nearly ridiculous. This can be extrapolated to cases up the age ladder, as it hard to see where a line is drawn regarding potential available in a person. Age tends to be used as a description of possible future power by younger individuals, and as an excuse by people who are older than they think they should be, but quality and release of product are more relevant than any descriptive term can be.

Trey: Those are quite valid examples of individuals that didn't let their age detract from their performance. Your example of someone completing college in their 40s is wonderful, and the internet is helping to reduce the importance of one's age in usage of their product. The extra limitation you are referring to is one we certainly don't need.

It's interesting to think that you see this same type of reaction in teenagers. "It's too late for me to participate in my classes" or "it's too late for me to make new friends, I'm a junior!" You can always take advantage of situations whether it's talking to people you never talk to or beginning to do your homework more often. This kind of lose-lose mindset loses people the rewards they could garner from their efforts.

Think about Dr. Seuss and William Shatner. Seuss published his first children's book when he was 33. Shatner didn't do Star Trek until he was 35. Most people would consider this to be the beginning of their careers, even though they were doing other things before them. I always roll my eyes at people who are depressed about turning 30.

You're right. It's never too late to do something. My wife's grandmother is turning 70, and she's taking classes on website building and such. My father went through and completed college when he was in his 40's.

We're only given so many years on this planet. Why do we have to create even more limitations in our little minds? You can bet that if I live to be 90 years old, I'm still going to be starting brand new projects!
